This variant is not known to confer reduced susceptibility to narlaprevir. All patients with treatment-emergent resistance variants failed to achieve undetectable viral HCV-RNA levels. During period 1, the most commonly reported AEs were gastrointestinal symptoms (diarrhea, anorectal discomfort, abdominal discomfort, abdominal distension).
